I voted today. I voted for change. I voted for someone who has respect, not only for Americans, but for the rest of the world. I voted for the hope that comes along with a fresh face, fresh intelligence, a peaceful attitude, and fresh ideas.

I am a Veteran of the U.S. Army and I have seen a few things that have made me realize that the United States is no longer respected in the world and is not on the right course. I love my country but I also love the world and all of the good people out there. I want us to focus more on what we all have in common rather than what makes us all different.

I want to see my country go back to being the hope for the world...the place where people come for a new hope...the place that helps people and countries in need around the world and follows through and completes the task. I want to see America return to a place of respect and hope in the world's eyes...and not remain in the current light..which is quite negative.

I know that Barack Obama is a politician and he may not be able to follow through with ALL of his promises made during the election but I also feel that he is the best choice. I want to believe that he will be the next face on Mount Rushmore...and I think he definitely has that chance....that chance to unite, to inspire, to motivate, but most importantly...to heal.

That's why I voted today. For any other Americans out there...have you voted? If you haven't yet...I ask you to please vote. When you do, stop and think not only of what is best for America...but what is best for the WORLD!
